To celebrate the beginnings of coffee cultivation in 1748 in Cuba, a series of 200th anniversary coffee cultivation stamps were issued. Here are the ones for one, two and five Cuban cents. Around the same time other countries in South America issued their own coffee stamps. The aesthetic and symbolism with coffee is not only there for the enjoyment of stamp collectors and philately, but also for the world of numismatic. At the bottom there is a five shilling note from Kenya.
All stamp pictures taken from the book “Coffea Curiosa” (1968) from Bernhard Rothfos, Hamburg, Germany
